The University of Sydney is situated about 2 kilometres south-west of the city centre and is bounded by the suburbs of Chippendale, Glebe, Newtown and Camperdown. The Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning is on the southern edge of the campus, in the Wilkinson Building, 148 City Road.

Bus from the city
The buses that travel along City Road past the Faculty are #422, #423, #426 and #428. They go from Circular Quay and travel up Pitt St then Castlereagh St before turning back into Pitt St just before Central Station (Railway Square) then via Broadway to City Road. Ask the bus driver to let you off at the stop just after the Cleveland Street traffic lights (International House). The Wilkinson Building is 50m or so further along City Road on the left-hand side.

Train from the city
The nearest station to the University is Redfern, approximately 10 minutes walk from the Wilkinson Building. All trains passing through Circular Quay, St James and Museum stations stop at Redfern. At Wynyard, Town Hall and Central (suburban) stations check platform indicators. All trains heading west (to Penrith, Richmond), south-west (Bankstown, Liverpool, Campbelltown) or south (Sutherland) stop at Redfern. At Redfern, turn left as you leave the station. You are on Lawson St. Continue to the first traffic lights (intersection with Abercrombie St). Cross Abercrombie St and turn right, along Ivy St. (going down hill). There is an entrance to the University at the end of Ivy Street. Go through the pedestrian gate and follow the road up past the Engineering buildings and past the back of the Seymour Theatre Centre. At the roundabout take the right-hand fork of road. The Wilkinson building (rear entrance) is the second on the right (on your left is a green-house and vegetable garden).
Note: This route is not recommended after dark. At night get off the train at Central, follow the signs to Railway Square and catch one of the buses listed above (heading away from the city).

Arriving from Interstate by train
You will arrive at the Sydney Terminal at Central Station. Follow the signs to Railway Square and catch a bus, as described above.
